When a first date goes badly and there’s not very much talking involved, it might be a good idea to excuse yourself and use the restroom in order to calm your nerves.

Give yourself a 2-minute break to regroup and think of new ways to restart the conversation.

It’s important to remember that the other person might feel exactly like you, so if you’re feeling uncomfortable or tense, chances are they’re feeling the same.
