Cheating: 7 Things People Say Before They Do It

1. What would you do if I cheated on you?

If your partner ever says anything along these lines, you should take it as a sign that they aren’t content with the relationship as it is or that they are really considering making changes and trying new things.

If they ever ask you, “What would you do if I cheated on you?” it means that they gave it a thought and they might make some plans about it. Of course, if you have a negative reaction (which is totally understandable in a case like this), they might tell you that it’s only a hypothetical discussion, so you 2 are good.

2. Sorry I didn’t text you, I was busy

If your partner used to text you all the time, whether they were at work or not, but somehow they stopped doing it, it might be a sign that something is going on.

We’re all busy, and we get that sometimes they might be caught up in work and the last thing they want to do is pick up the phone and engage in a conversation. There are days and days, but if they don’t text you AT ALL anymore, that’s more likely a red flag.

Experts say that if your partner pulls away, they might be devoting attention to other individuals, such as someone else receiving that attention you used to get.

3. They use I instead of We

This is one of the most obvious signs that there’s something going on in your relationship. If you notice that your significant other says things that are related to the future, such as moving to a different state or going on an exotic trip, but instead of using the word we, only says I, things might be pretty bad.

It means that they no longer see you in their future and they say those things just to pull away from you. They actually give you hints that they’re ready for something new, and you should expect that to happen soon.

4. Why do you care where I’m going?

If your significant other suddenly becomes more secretive about their whereabouts and activities, it might be because they are engaging in some sneaky behavior behind your back.

If you decide to confront them, they might get defensive and respond in a mean way, saying things like “Why do you care?” or “It’s none of your business where I am all the time!”
