7 Things People Stupidly Do To Save A Relationship

4. Forced trips

This is an interesting one. Imagine fighting with your partner and booking a trip, like a cruise, for example, hoping that you will solve all of your issues. Oh, boy, the fireworks will start! For some people, getting away for a couple of days might be the best option, but for others, it can be even MORE harmful.

That is because if you already have major problems that you haven’t talked about, a trip might seem like a chore, not like something fun. We’ve seen a lot of “counseling trips”, where spouses are “forced” to talk and to spend time together. But why change the decor, when you can simply change the behavior?

5. They are willing to change their appearance

“You’re the one that I love, You’re the one that I love, Oh, oh, oh, yeah”, Olivia Newton-John was singing as Sandy Olsson in the movie “Grease”. She had changed her appearance, thinking that the boy she had a crush on will be more attracted to her.

This is a method that some people are using, but is it worth it? Dying your hair, changing your wardrobe, actually turning into someone else just to make a relationship work… it is a clear warning sign!

6. They are lying to themselves

Even though they are not happy anymore, some people are scared of being single or have the illusion that their spouses are their ride or die. They are forcing themselves to be or to look happy, so their partner won’t see the truth.

7. They are willing to make compromises

Compromises are natural when it comes to relationships. You start to think about your partner when you have an important decision to make. Everything is good until you put your happiness on hold for the sake of your relationship. If it’s not mutual commitment and you don’t care about each feelings, then what’s the point?

TAKEAWAY

Just like with everything in life, we have to look at the good side. Although the situations above are funny at first, it’s always better to seek help from a professional, if you want to save your relationship. Don’t try to be Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde”, because if something is forced, it won’t work out!
