13 Myths About Marriage That No One Should Believe

13. Myth: Most marriages end up in a divorce one way or another.

This is definitely not true, and if you get married thinking that you’ll divorce one day, your marriage is doomed before it even starts. The frequently repeated statistic showing that more than 50 percent of marriages end up in a divorce is just not accurate. There are a lot of variables that need to be taken into consideration, including, age, socio-economic factors, demographics, or others.

And even so, the statistic is falsely interpreted. For instance, one of two marriages that took place in the 1990s ended up in a divorce, but that doesn’t mean half of the marriages are likely to fail. Don’t miss out on marriage just because you’re afraid it will fail.

When you’re marrying the person you love the most in this world I don’t see how it could go wrong, even though it’s up to you to make things work.
