5. Check-in with your partner on a frequent basis.

If you allow problems to build up in your relationship it will be very hard to solve them later on. According to psychologist Nikki Martinez, each couple should have regular talks, in order to avoid problems from building up and becoming even worse.

Communication is key, so checking in with your partner regularly will keep things going smoothly.
